The Shawshank Redemption. I’ve seen the movie no less than ten times

What this movie expresses is perfect, and I really like it.

At the beginning of the movie, Andy was accused of murder, and the court sentenced Andy to life imprisonment with incomplete evidence. With Andy’s ingenuity, there was a chance to refute and clarify, because the lawyer said in the movie that “There are bullets scatteRed on the ground with Andy’s fingerprints “, he can ask the judge to check the fingerprints of the bullet in the body of the deceased, so that the truth becomes clear (personal humble opinion).

When Andy enteRed the prison, Red made a bet. I like this detail very much, because Red and others have been in prison for a long time. There is nothing new to entertain. A newcomer came in and everyone treated them all. They don’t understand that variable things may happen to them, so they will bet, just as Red later said “institutionalization”, they have no dreams anymore.

However, Andy is different, he needs to change, to give himself hope, so that he can get Redemption, so Andy risks his life to help the prison guard solve the tax problem of 35,000 dollars. However, in the eyes of Red, he thinks Andy is eager for that short “freedom”, which may be the difference between Andy and them.

When Andy was three sisters sodomy, with Red tone described in the movie “(Andy) against each time, sometimes his victory, he sometimes failure”, personally, I think, first of all in prison can not self-defense tool, the second three sisters together, every time, Andy is not very strong, this kind of circumstance, Andy basic victory is impossible, In the movie, it may be because of the audience’s feelings or some other reasons. However, Failure meant being beaten up and sodomized, but Andy fought back every time, and in the studio he reckoned more bravely, ending up in the hospital ward for a month.

In the movie, the outcome of Brooks’ parole mirrors the outcome of everyone in Shawshank,, just like Red, Brooks is in prison in culture, has a certain position, will get the other prisoners must respect, but it is such a person who could stay in jail for 50 years, and in prison, he alone keep library, you can imagine how boring day, When he was released on parole, however, he committed suicide. In fact, Red was the one who saw better than any of them. He knew why Burrows had killed himself, he knew what fate was in front of him, but he couldn’t do anything about it, so he was questioned (or tried?) after he had been imprisoned for 40 years. He was no longer as meek as he used to be, perhaps because of Andy’s influence. That’s why the new warden got his parole.

Have to say that Andy is a very smart person, he hope, from the start, also hard for his hope, he also knows the fate of others, so he told Red, before if parole after, be sure to find what he left, he hopes to help the friend to help him escape, to help him change the fate of the mark is the same, and he did.

In the movie, why does Red persuade Andy not to have dreams and hopes, even though he knows that without dreams he will be just like Brooks? Because there is no enough intelligence and strength, the dream is so grandious.Red is right that “hope is dangerous, hope can drive people crazy”.If Andy is not able to prepare for his escape, he will definitely be crazy after he comes out of the dark room for two months, which is what Red is worried about.

If this movie is mapped to our life, I can’t imagine that some people, like Herwood, can’t understand the extreme behavior of Brooks, more people, like Red, can understand but can’t do anything about it, and people like Andy
